The movie “Jurassic Park” inspired me to start collecting dinosaur memorabilia. I remember watching it as a little kid and being in awe of these weird and extraordinary creatures. It wasn’t until “Jurassic World” was announced that I really started my collection. Eventually, my collection started growing rapidly, but I had no one within my friends’ circle to share the joy of my passion. Since my husband already had a YouTube channel, that is when I joked about sharing my enthusiasm with strangers online. We joked over this idea for several days before he told me that we should stop talking about it and do it.
The channel idea initially started out as strictly my collection, but then I found Jurassic Park Funko Pops. I liked the little Pops so much that I decided to have Funkos as our Christmas gift theme, which then eventually broadened the channel even more. The snowball effect took off from there. Pretty soon we found ourselves getting Loot Crates, buying off Ebay, and purchasing special items from Etsy. After a while, we came to the conclusion that we could not focus on one specific genre, but to concentrate on all of our collectibles since we are both avid collectors. Then we really started to think about how to include our viewers. Not only did we want to share in the passion of our collections with our viewers; we wanted to give them a piece of our collection as well. It was this desire that we decided we had to go big by giving away some special collectibles.
